Recently we contracted with General Acrylics to completely redo our track. We are very pleased with our new track and how smoothly the process went with the professional crew at General Acrylics. I had the pleasure of working with the Astroturf and General Acrylics team during a field replacement project for the Humboldt Unified School District. The project consisted of an existing synthetic turf football field and synthetic turf baseball infield that needed replacement due to age and normal wear and tear. The project also included some other miscellaneous sports related improvements.
General Acrylics’ proposal was selected during the procurement process because they had the best product, warranty, and a quality proposal.
During the construction process General Acrylics kept excellent communication with our architecture firm and the school district representatives. The project was built with a very tight schedule and completed on time. The synthetic turf field provided by Astroturf and General Acrylics’ team greatly exceeded the quality of the previous field.

I just want to thank all of you for the fantastic job you did resurfacing our track. We are very happy with the end product for several reasons. Obviously, it looks great and you can feel the difference. More importantly though was the level of professionalism and great flow of communication from your office that made this project possible. During the planning stage of the project your team assured us that we could carry on with our regularly scheduled practices and games. This was reassuring to me as an Athletic Director because moving around events this late in the season is not always a simple thing. While all projects have obstacles to overcome, we had a unique weather event that rarely happens in the desert. the aftermath of a hurricane dumped rain on our community for five straight days, making a tight timeline for completion more challenging. Your group went above and beyond by working through the night on several occasions to make sure that we were able to host a football game on a Friday night. The patience exhibited by your crew and willingness to make sure that I knew where we were at with the project on a daily basis made what could have been a trying circumstance more than manageable. In fact it was a great experience from start to finish. It was a pleasure working with people that were understanding, positive, and determined to do what was best for our school.

Nellis Air Force Base was in need of two new facilities. One in particular was a brand new running track, and the other was an artificial turf football field. We knew that this was a very specialized field and chose General Acrylics Inc. to perform the work after many other contractors bid the project. General Acrylics understood the attention to detail and all that came with performing a project for the Military. The personal were very informative and the project was executed with professionalism and swiftness. It has been my pleasure to work with General Acrylics Inc. over the past several years. They have provided us with our running track, tennis courts and in 2010 constructed an artificial football / soccer field for DHS. General Acrylics has met every time table and budget or every job we have given them and our expectations have been surpassed for each project. General Acrylics, Inc. constructed a 4-lane Spurtan® Running Track in the fall of 2009 for National Nuclear Security Administration's Los Alamos National Laboratory. The primary users of this track are the SOC-Los Alamos Protective Forces. The Protective Force (PF) is vital in securing our national security interests, property and people. The PF is required by the Department of Energy; Code of Federal Regulations to demonstrate physical fitness standards to include weekly maintenance training to safely meet those standards. Construction of this track provided a professional venue to conduct physical fitness operations and has significantly improved Physical Fitness Program administration. Due to internal laboratory issues, construction of the track was authorized in October 2009. This created multiple challenges mainly due to inclement weather and low temperatures (Los Alamos is located in the mountains at 7500 feet). General Acrylics, Inc. faced all challenges with outstanding professionalism and provided solutions and options in order to execute completion of the track under our timelines. Our track has been used for almost 2 years and looks and feels as good as the day construction was completed. My only complaint is that the track is so outstanding; it has become very popular for all laboratory personnel. Everyone wants to use it!

Rarely in today's world am I impressed enough by a product or a service to write a letter of recommendation endorsing that product or service. There are, of course, rare exceptions when expectations are not only met, but actually exceeded. Such is the case with the recent installation of our AstroTurf football field installed by General Acrylics, Inc. In short, the product is fantastic and the service was more than excellent. Jonnie Deremo and his capable staff did absolutely everything that was required to deliver us an excellent product. They made several promises, and they delivered on every one of them. Their entire organization proved competent, hard working, and extremely reliable in terms of construction quality, tasks, time tables, etc. It was a classic case of a job well done and done to the satisfaction of the customer. I should also add that these comments go far beyond my personal beliefs and opinions; they are shared by our Board of Directors, administration, coaching staff, athletes, and their parents. It might appear that my enthusiastic endorsement of General Acrylics, Inc. / AstroTurf overstates the reality of the situation. Trust me---it does not. What a pleasure it is to write a recommendation of Astroturf Game Day Grass for replacement of your athletic fields. With General Acrylics (Jonnie Deremo) as General Contractor, our football field and track at The Meadows School underwent such replacement during 2009 and what an outstanding job and the phenomenal results are evident. We've been delighted and actually thrilled with their work and our incredible fields. Visitors and spectators are awed, our student-athletes are amazed at the improvement in the quality and consistency of the playfield and track, and everyone has complimented AGDG for their winwin job.
When we decided to undertake replacing the athletic unit because we had heard such conflicting input, we first contacted the Superintendents of City and County parks to see what choices they showed were in use and were available. We had all heard about the inefficiency of turf in extremely hot climates such as in Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico to the point that athletes had to wear multiple pairs of socks, replace soles of their shoes, and reschedule competition for times when the sun was in ebb or rising.
In the heat of noon in August on our campus, three of us adults took off our shoes and stood barefoot on the Astroturf. Warm like the sand, yes, but what a huge difference and what a thrill to know that we'd chosen so well. AstroTurf GameDay and General Acrylics are a compatible and great team: most efficient, timely, on budget, clean, honorable, proud of their work, delivering a great product, and justifiably so. The project for which we contracted with you was quite involved- to celebrate the Phoenix Suns' 30th anniversary by renovating thirty basketball courts across the state of Arizona. In today's world, it is simply "overwhelming" to do business with someone who will back-up his product / work as you have with our tennis courts. We know we had no guarantees from you regarding cracks appearing or reappearing, but you did not hesitate in remedying our problem.
