Our History and Leadership
The company traces its roots to 1958, when it operated as W-H Construction, Inc., a paving and utilities contractor. In 1972, W-HC established General Acrylics as a dedicated division for tennis court and track construction. Jonnie Deremo, the current owner and President, purchased the company in 1987 and has since grown it into a nationally recognized leader among athletic surface contractors.
Our Phoenix, AZ headquarters contains over 10,000 square feet of office, manufacturing, warehouse, and equipment storage space. Regional offices in Las Vegas, NV, Lakewood, CO, and Spokane, WA keep us near our clients throughout the eight western states we serve: Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.
Three Principles That Guide Every Project
Since 1987, our success has stemmed from the leadership and dedication of Jonnie Deremo and the entire General Acrylics team, following three straightforward principles applied to one project at a time.
- Quality Products — We deliver reliable surfaces for every need and budget, offering a complete range of tennis court systems, latex and polyurethane running track systems, and synthetic turf for athletic fields plus commercial and residential applications.
- Quality Installation — Our consistent workload and the Southwest's year-round installation climate allow us to maintain a large crew of highly skilled, experienced technicians, ensuring every project is staffed with the right people.
- Customer Satisfaction — Our crews, managers, and administrative staff all strive for complete customer satisfaction, and the results speak for themselves: a large portion of our work comes from returning clients.
For over a generation we have upheld these principles, earning respect and lasting success in athletic facility construction. We look ahead to the future and keep searching for new and improved products and applications for our customers.
