Management
Jonnie Deremo — President
Jonnie grew up on a family farm in a small Southwestern Colorado town, working alongside his father from a young age. That background forged the strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit he is known for today. At age eight he started dividing his time in Arizona to attend school in the valley, later graduating from Moon Valley High School. He continued at Glendale Community College, completing coursework in estimating, blueprint reading and drafting. During his studies he found his true passion: owning and running his own business.
In 1982 Jonnie left the farm to race motocross professionally around the country. By 1984 he had started a service business, which he later sold as he turned his attention to construction. His search brought him to General Acrylics. Given his athletic background, sports construction was a natural fit, and in October 1987 he bought the company from founder Dick Hoover. Ever since, he has worked tirelessly to grow General Acrylics into one of the leading sports facility construction firms in the United States.
General Acrylics has been a longtime member of the American Sports Builders Association, and Jonnie holds ASBA certification as a tennis court and running track builder. Outside the office he spends much of his time outdoors riding dirt bikes, mountain biking and fishing, and enjoying quality time with his family. He still spends a great deal of time in his former home state of Colorado.
Sales & Estimating
Mike Wickham — Consultant / Account Executive
Mike became part of the General Acrylics family in 2013. Since January 2019 he has supported the company as an independent contractor while remaining a key member of our sales team, focusing on synthetic turf and running tracks. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point (1987–1991) and Arizona State University (1991–1992), and has called Arizona home for more than 27 years. He and his wife Lisa are often found hiking the trails and mountains around Phoenix, where they live, or in Prescott, where they escape the desert heat.
Mike competed in sports throughout high school and college and remains passionate about athletics. He enjoys attending major sporting events and venues both locally and nationally, and has only a few more stadiums and events left on his bucket list. A Wisconsin native and proud "Cheesehead," he is a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and backs all teams from his home state. He still enjoys competition and sports-related activities such as golf, basketball and softball.
Thanks to his organized sports background, Mike understands the value of teamwork and performs well under pressure. His colleagues benefit from his leadership example, his attention to customer service detail and his 25-plus years of sales and sales management experience, the last 18 of them in construction. Mike came to General Acrylics with a strong reputation and a record of exceeding customer expectations, and he is committed to prompt, professional service. Donna Sierks — Senior Account Executive
Donna offers 30 years of experience in the sports construction industry, including 7 years with General Acrylics. She has deep expertise in running tracks, synthetic turf and tennis courts. A former Chairman of the American Sports Builders Association, she earned their prestigious Industry Merit Award for outstanding contribution to the association and the industry. She has also served as Track Division President and chaired the Track Construction Manual Committee for 8 years, and has delivered numerous technical training sessions. She holds the Certified Track Builder designation.
Donna is a Colorado native who majored in History with an emphasis on the Southwest USA. She is married with 4 children and a dozen grandchildren. She and her husband Skip love traveling for business—meeting clients and inspecting their sports facilities—as well as for pleasure. They also enjoy fishing, camping, hunting, snorkeling and nearly every outdoor activity.
Donna specializes in design/build construction of new facilities and renovation of existing ones, and she values the chance to build long-term relationships with clients. She finds it especially rewarding to work with General Acrylics, a company whose ethical philosophy of quality construction and exceptional customer service matches her own ideals. Justin Fudge — Account Executive
Justin came to General Acrylics as an account executive in 2016. He graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a degree in Marketing, earning Dean's List honors. Before joining our staff he gained 10 years of management and construction experience, preparing him well for his role in our sales department. Justin is now a key member of the sales team working on turf, track and tennis surfacing projects, with a goal of providing customers quality service, care, support and attention to detail.
Justin has lived in Arizona since 2005. He met his wife in 2006 and they married in 2013; their first daughter arrived in April 2016, and he feels blessed to have them both in his life. Originally from Newcastle, WA, Justin is a loyal Seahawks fan and an avid outdoorsman with a passion for backcountry hunting. In his free time he enjoys the family cattle ranch that has been part of his family heritage for over 100 years. Kyle Watkins — Account Executive
Kyle came to General Acrylics as an account executive in May 2017. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on a full-ride football scholarship with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. A valuable member of our sales team, Kyle works on turf, track and tennis surfacing projects. Born and raised in Arizona, he graduated from Cactus Shadows High School as a football star, holding the state record for most catches in a game (21), earning All-American Wide Receiver honors and winning the 4A State Championship with his team in 2006.
When not in the office, Kyle enjoys hunting, camping, working out and cheering on his favorite Arizona sports team (go Cardinals). He also enjoys time on the family boat at the lake. General Acrylics is grateful to have Kyle on the team; he is willing to take on any task asked of him, and his sports background gives him real-world experience with the industry and its products.
