Cooperative Purchasing Agreements

Cooperative purchasing agreements are pre-bid and awarded contracts for pricing of various items. These are typically used by school districts and municipalities for procurement of goods and services.

The reasons for using a cooperative purchasing contract include:

• Expediting the procurement process to allow for a shorter turn-around time for items that are needed on a time-sensitive schedule.
• Minimizing the cost of procurement as the items have been pre-bid and there is no need for the formal bid process for each item or project.
• Secure a pre-bid, discounted, published price.
• Allows the owner to select a quality contractor and their product of choice.
